Job Description

Summary:

Launched in 2012, NBCUniversal’s Global Executive Search team is an in-house leadership recruiting and advisory team that partners with senior leadership to proactively identify and engage executive talent at the Vice President level and above. In addition to executive recruitment, the team delivers high-impact market intelligence and competitive insights that inform talent decisions and support NBCUniversal’s evolving business priorities. With a global footprint across New York, Los Angeles, and London, the Executive Search team is comprised of experienced search consultants and research professionals with deep industry, functional, and geographic expertise. The team is known for building trusted relationships with business leaders and HR partners and for serving as strategic advisors on executive talent, leadership trends, and the competitive marketplace.

Executive research and intelligence are core to the team’s impact. Acting as a strategic advisor and thought partner, the Senior Research Analyst plays a critical role in executive talent planning across NBCUniversal by delivering high‑impact, consultative research and market intelligence in support of leadership hiring and broader talent initiatives. The Senior Research Analyst leads customized talent mapping and pipeline development for mission‑critical roles, conducts market and competitive analysis, and develops leadership intelligence briefings that provide actionable insight into executive talent pools and the broader industry landscape.

Role Summary:

  • Lead research efforts for the LA‑based executive search team while actively contributing expertise to global projects and cross‑regional initiatives across NBCUniversal
  • Deliver high-impact research and intelligence in a fast paced and highly dynamic environment, providing strategic guidance and advice on real-time industry trends and insights
  • Act as a talent scout, utilizing various tools, strategies, and methods, including AI, to uncover top leaders and understand the competitive marketplace
  • Constant curation and understanding of the market and competitive landscape; including competitive insights, business intelligence, and organizational charts
  • Serve as a strategic advisor by analyzing emerging industries, functions, and talent trends, and translating insights into research strategies and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Partner with key stakeholders; calibrate deliverables for highly mission critical and/or hard-to-fill positions
  • Function as a SME across a variety of industry segments and functional disciplines
  • Actively monitor industry trades; tracking key industry moves, M&A activity, and ad-hoc reports, as necessary
  • Champion importance and value of data capture and quality in project deliverables and in CRM; ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date and client ready
  • Serve as database subject matter expert (SME); refine and establish best practices to streamline recruitment processes in accordance with strict confidentiality and all relevant regulations
  • Proactively identify and evaluate new resources, tools, and approaches to strengthen the research and intelligence function
  • Serve as an ambassador for NBCU’s overall commitment to inclusion as a core value and business imperative

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:                                                       

  • 6+ years’ experience working with qualitative research. Experience can come from an in-house executive search team, executive search agency, market insights firm or a data-rich and research-intensive field
  • Experience synthesizing information from multiple sources into clear, actionable insights
  • Experience providing consultative and advisory support
  • Hands-on experience working with sensitive and confidential data
  • Experience with CRM, ATS and/or data tools (i.e., Encore, huge plus, but not required)

Remote: This position has been designated as remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
