Job Description

As the Production Manager, you will report into the Director, Features Production Management and support the entire Features Production Management team, as well as the overall Olympic Operations team. 

Responsibilities

  • Support Features Production Management team on Sports and/or Olympic features, documentaries and sales projects (could also assist in similar roles across any/all properties):
    • Partner with NBC Production Teams to forecast, budget and plan for profiles, features, documentary, and specialty projects
    • Design and launch new properties from concept to execution, including financial modeling, vendor sourcing and staffing plans
    • Create and update budgets as production progresses to track overall spending categories, including domestic/international profiles, documentaries/long form features, etc
    • Onboard and process payments for freelance staff and vendors in partnership with HR, Payroll & Vendor Management
    • Reconcile administrative paperwork, correspondence, notes/final reports from all projects in various internal systems
    • Book logistics (schedule travel, hotel, rentals, crew/equipment needs), research and prepare estimates prior to each project and track costs throughout production
    • Collaborate with internal NBC departments to ensure all production requirements are met (production service agreements, location agreements, EHS guidelines, etc)
    • Request Certificate of Insurance and Property Insurance for various vendors, vendor credit card authorizations, visa applications and carnets for international shoots, secure mandatory traveler information
    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum five (5+) years of production management or equivalent experience in television, live or corporate events
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office environment, smart sheet, desktop publishing and ability to master in-house database systems (solid administrative skills are key)

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment; building strong relationships and fostering collaboration across diverse partnerships (internal teams / external teams / vendors)
  • Experience managing multiple production projects simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
