Job Description

KBLR Telemundo Las Vegas is looking for a dynamic, bilingual Digital Reporter to join our multi-platform news team. This role is responsible for identifying, creating, and delivering compelling local content across broadcast, digital, OTT, and social platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who is passionate about community-focused journalism, thrives under deadline pressure, and can create content optimized for both traditional and emerging media audience

  • Collaborate with news producers, executive producers, managers, photographers, and assignment editors to conceptualize, write, edit, and produce Telemundo newscasts, specials, and packages for breaking and planned coverage.
  • Contribute story ideas and participate in daily editorial meetings and coverage decisions.
  • Research, gather information, conduct interviews, shoot video, write, edit, and report assigned stories from the field.
  • Prepare, assemble, and present story content in a fair, accurate, and unbiased manner across all platforms.
  • Communicate effectively with newsroom leadership regarding story development, field progress, and breaking news.
  • Generate and curate video, images, and editorial content for digital, social, OTT, fast channels, and other station platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a network of news sources to generate exclusive local story leads and strengthen community relationships.
  • Participate in station-sponsored, community, and tentpole events as assigned.
  • Perform field reporting, and other temporary assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Broadcasting, Journalism or related field.
• A minimum 1 or 2 years news writing experience.
• Spanish and English languages proficiency (reading and writing).

• Must be willing to work in Las Vegas, NV.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

• Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Desired Characteristics:

• Ability to write, edit, produce and gather content under heavy deadline pressure, without compromising accuracy or credibility.
• Significant experience in a news environment.
• Strong journalistic skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms, including broadcast, web and mobile.
• Strong computer skills, with basic understanding of multi-media file formats.
• A pioneering spirit with the desire to learn emerging technologies.
• Passion to develop and present story ideas.
• Invested and engaged in the local community and authentically understands and represents the local viewer.

•Strong Video Editing skills.

Additional Requirements:

    • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
