Job Description

Technical Operations is seeking a Programming Coordinator to join a driven and highly motivated team to support NBCUniversal’s domestic broadcast networks. The Programming Coordinator will be responsible for various areas of onboarding, ingest, and fulfillment of content. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the rest of Media Fulfillment, Product and Engineering teams across multiple site locations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinator will partner with one or multiple internal program operations managers or specialists and will be expected to step in for them when needed (vacation coverage, sick time, etc). Coordinator will be expected to build relationships and act as the lead on their behalf. 
  • When required, work with content editors to validate all content is edited to the network’s specifications. 
  • Responsible for supporting material management of programs and re-airs. This includes assisting in the onboarding and coordination of program delivery, fixes and replacements. Will have exposure to brand counterparts as well as production and studio representatives. 
  • Responsible for coordinating and assisting quality control screening, version control and file completion for on-air playout. 
  • Any prior understanding of our scheduling and operational tools are helpful, products include WebScheduler, OTTO, Translator VOD and Translator Linear. 
  • Responsible for coordination of program format adjustments with the Ad Sales, On-Air Scheduling and the Network Programming Groups. 
  • Confirm schedule accuracy in on-air systems and record documents based on network programming grids. 
  • Work with the operation on secondary distribution needs for network and will be expected to learn and provide support for secondary distribution workflows. 
  • While assigned to a specific network, network assignment could change based on business needs. 
  • In addition to the assigned network, there could be requests to handle additional responsibilities based on available bandwidth and will need to be available on weekends when required. 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma and relevant certification or Associate's Degree in Media or Communications, or equivalent professional experience in broadcast, digital, or post production role.
  • A solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.

Desired Characteristics: 

  • 1+ years of experience in a broadcast environment. 
  • 1+ years of work experience showing strong computer, communication, and facilitation skills  
  • 1+ years of work experience in a fast-paced environment requiring troubleshooting, process skills, and exhibiting an ability to adapt to changing scenarios 
  • Ability to work under pressure with great attention to detail. 
  • Bachelors or 2 year degree in Communications or Media. 
  • Experience, understanding and knowledge of digital broadcast and production technical systems, standards, and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Fluency or proficiency in Spanish is a plus

Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000
