Job Description
The Director, Development Ad Sales Sports, will lead strategic sponsorship initiatives in support of golf properties, partnerships, and platforms across NBC Sports and Golf Channel. You will be responsible for developing and executing integrated sponsorship strategies that drive brand relevance, fan engagement, and commercial growth across tournaments, league partners, talent, and owned IP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of sponsorship strategies for golf-related properties, including professional tours, major championships, original programming, and editorial franchises.
- Serve as the primary partner to golf leagues and rights holders, aligning network priorities with partner objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Ad Sales, Programming, Digital, Content, and Creative teams to build cohesive, cross-platform sponsorship plans.
- Identify and develop sponsorship-friendly marketing platforms that leverage golf IP to drive non-unit revenue and long-term partnerships.
- Oversee campaign planning across linear, digital, social, and experiential touchpoints, including on-site activations and tentpole events.
- Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient execution and delivery of marketing initiatives.
- Analyze performance and audience insights to inform strategy and optimize future campaigns.
- Present sponsorship strategies and results to internal leadership and external partners.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in sports marketing, media, or brand marketing, with strong preference for golf or premium sports experience.
- Proven experience working with leagues, governing bodies, or major sports partners.
- Strong understanding of golf audiences, calendar rhythms, and the competitive sports media landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week
Salary range: $125,000 - $160,000 + sales incentive compensation and long term incentive eligible
