Job Description
Manager of Platform Cloud Architecture will lead a team of Senior Engineers and Architects responsible for designing and implementing all cloud post-based deployments of storage, compute and software applications via automation for NBCUniversal O&T. The core responsibilities include (but are not limited to) overseeing development of automated deployment initiatives, integration of the post cloud platform with different cloud providers and existing on-prem services; research and test new SaaS offerings as defined by business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- 4+ years management experience preferred
- Manage a team of engineers across geographical locations
- Define technical cloud Post strategy and long-term roadmap for the platform
- Lead automation initiatives for software and Cloud infrastructure deployments
- Identify areas where automation can improve productivity and drive cost savings
- Oversee cloud and contract budgets and participate in long range planning
- Drive vendors to adopt cloud best practices for automated software deployment and resiliency using cloud native functions
- Define projects to improve systems and procedures through meetings and written updates
- Lead platform upgrade initiatives and develop L2 team to perform those tasks
- Manage L3 escalations for all platform related incidents by communicating with vendors, clients, and other engineering teams to resolve issues and escalate to leadership as needed
- Provide monthly reporting and oversee documentation of platform standards.
- Making sure the team meets all SLAs
- Ability to work effectively with others across geographical locations
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and schedules
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and adept at building relationships with all technical and operational areas across NBCU

- BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- Avid (Interplay, NEXIS, Media Central Cloud UX and Media Composer)
- Adobe Creative Cloud, third-party hardware and software
- Azure & AWS deployments, VMWare and Teradici
- Building automation using Teraform, Puppet, Packer and Ansible
- JSon, C#, JavaScript, Python and PowerShell
- File encoding using Telestream Content Agent, Vantage and ColorFront
- Archive HSM using Telestream Diva
- Windows domain administration
- File Based Acquisition – ProRes, DNX etc.
- Video Compression – MPEG2, MPEG4/AVC, XAVC, DNx, ProRes etc.
- Video signals - SD, HD, UHD, HDR resolutions, frame rates
- Audio signals – Dante, Dolby Digital, Dolby E, PCM, Dolby Atmos
- Linux administration – preferably RedHat/CentOS
- Network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS)
- System vulnerabilities and security issues
- File system administration (NFS, CIFS,SMB)
- File acceleration application using Signiant products
Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.

Salary range: $130,000 - $160,000 (bonus eligible)
