Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Reporting to the TechEx Sr. Manager, the Technical Project Specialist plays a critical role in planning, coordinating, and executing IT initiatives across NBCUniversal Lot. This role ensures that technology projects ranging from infrastructure deployments to end-user technology rollouts are delivered on time, within scope, and with a focus on operational excellence. This is a full-time, on-site role designed to support close collaboration with the team and partners.
The Technical Project Specialist partners closely with cross-functional teams in this full-time, on-site role to drive collaboration and alignment across Workplace IT Operations, Engineering, TechBar, UCC, and Executive Support—streamlining workflows, tracking milestones, provide updates to leadership, and ensuring seamless transitions to business-as-usual (BAU) support models.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables for multiple concurrent IT initiatives.
- Coordinate resource allocation, scheduling, and task ownership with internal teams and external vendors for projects.
- Prepare and distribute project documentation, meeting notes, and status reports to stakeholders.
- Track project progress, proactively identify risks and dependencies, and escalate blockers as needed.
- Support the rollout of hardware, software, and system upgrades, ensuring minimal business disruption.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for project updates, stakeholder communication, and executive reporting.
- Facilitate meetings, track action items, and ensure timely follow-through on commitments.
- Contribute to the development of playbooks, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve project execution efficiency.
- Support post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and best practices for continuous improvement.
- Develops and maintains the project intake process, serving as the single point of contact for all new project requests.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in IT project coordination or management, preferably in a large enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, end-user computing, and service delivery environments.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Airtable, MS Project, or ServiceNow).
- Strong understanding of ITIL principles and operational support workflows.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Problem-solving mindset with a collaborative and adaptable approach.
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- PMP, CAPM, or Agile certification a plus.
- Experience supporting technology transitions, large-scale deployments, or office relocations.
- Familiarity with media, entertainment, or studio production environments is a bonus.

- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Salary range: $85,000 - $100,000
