Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. Job Description

The Associate Industrial Engineer will join the Business Analytics and Industrial Engineering team to enhance operational efficiency and support business growth. In this role, you will apply expertise in optimization, capacity and demand analysis, and advanced data analytics to determine the most efficient ways to utilize people, machines, materials, information, and data. Your work will drive measurable improvements in business performance, financial outcomes, guest satisfaction, and employee satisfaction.

This position will primarily support Workforce Management; an initiative focused on optimizing labor and labor-related processes. The role provides the opportunity to work directly with frontline partners, influence and improve business processes, and drive automation to deliver efficiency across our teams.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Apply industrial engineering and business analytics methodologies (e.g., probability and statistics, process flow analysis, queuing theory, optimization, simulation) to diagnose root causes, engineer solutions, and implement sustainable change.
  • Partner with internal clients to facilitate productivity and efficiency analyses, evaluating and improving methods and procedures across operational processes.
  • Develop and execute data collection studies; obtain and analyze data using SQL, Python, and cloud-based tools for statistical and operational insights.
  • Influence and collaborate with cross-functional partners to support the rollout of process improvements and workforce initiatives.
  • Build, track, and maintain KPIs to increase visibility into staffing, performance trends, and operational drivers.
  • Assist in developing labor models, scheduling analytics, and forecasting tools that guide workforce planning decisions.
  • Support process automation efforts to streamline planning workflows and improve operational accuracy.
  • Develop business cases and presentations for audiences ranging from frontline leaders to executive stakeholders.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policies, procedures, training, and team involvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields.
  • 1 year minimum of experience in a related field (including internship experience).
  • Demonstrated application of statistical methods and techniques.
  • Experience with programming/query languages (SQL or Python) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of project management and process improvement methodologies.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Familiarity with labor planning, workforce management concepts, or forecasting methodologies.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, or related languages.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau).
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS Snowflake, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficient in statistical programs such as Minitab, JMP, or R.
  • Experience utilizing Six Sigma and Lean principles.
  • Strong prioritization and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering projects efficiently.
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Able to effectively handle sensitive and confidential matters.

Additional Requirements:

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
