Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

NBCUniversal’s Media Operations is responsible for managing the content supply chain of the company and key functions such as content ingest, QC, preparation, and fulfillment to meet the needs of our customers worldwide. Global Media Operations is seeking a Program Director to oversee all topline executive program initiatives across the department including but not limited to: system burndown and destination architecture migrations, UDX partnership opportunities, Marketing Supply Chain evolution, AI operationalization within our 24x7 supply chain, and other critical initiatives within our long range plan.  They will also work across teams to ensure operational readiness for the launch of new channels, services, and tentpole live events within the operation.

The Program Director will be responsible for leading and organizing cross-functional executive level programs that involve deliverables from various groups including UDX, Marketing, Operations, Product, Enterprise AI and Engineering.  

The Program Director will work closely with media technologies – automation systems, workflow tools, cloud-based storage and processing, and scheduling and order management systems – and develop a working knowledge of how the operation works today to drive the department’s supply chain transformation strategy. They will demonstrate leadership by planning, implementing and overseeing multiple programs to ensure they meet our organizational goals. 

We’re looking for an individual who is highly skilled at developing program strategies, setting goals, and creating detailed implementation plans with deadlines and milestones. They will regularly evaluate program progress and generate reports and presentations to report out on performance & impact.  The Program Director will be responsible for all updates and communication to stakeholders and executive and senior leadership. As a subject matter expert in program management, the Program Director will also be encouraged to help mentor more junior project managers. A successful Program Director will be detail oriented, an excellent communicator, accountable, manage all critical project details, and display high levels of ownership throughout.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of experience managing cross functional programs in a broadcast or media-related field.
  • 3+ years of work experience in broadcast or a media-related field.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing tasks and tracking issues across a large technical operation.
  • Experience leading read outs and regularly delivering & maintaining executive-level presentations.
  • Experience with creating metric driven executive-level value stories for large scale project/programs
  • Highly proficient with project management principles, methodologies, and tooling (Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Jira, LucidChart, Airtable, etc.)
  • Experience with automation capabilities within project management software, project data visualization or dashboarding.
  • Experience mentoring & training junior project managers
  • Strong executive presence; excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • Experience with overseeing automation initiatives, file-based workflows & cloud-based technologies.
  • Ability to work off hours or on a flexible schedule as needed to best support the project.
  • Ability to work at one of our office hubs in either Los Angeles, NYC, Stamford or Dry Creek.
