Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

NBCUniversal Television Distribution division is responsible for the global distribution of NBC Universal product to all forms of television throughout the world. This includes distribution of current and library theatrical and television product in the pay, free, basic and new media markets. 

Job Description

The Senior Manager, Sales Liaison Operations is responsible for managing the full operational lifecycle of content certification and distribution readiness in China.

 

This role serves as a key operational component for the sales organization, ensuring that all censorship and delivery activities directly enable deal execution and client commitments.

 

You will oversee the end-to-end censorship, submission, and delivery processes, providing both pre-sale and post-sale operational support. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales Liaison TVD , China, with a dotted-line to Director, Sales Administration China at LA, this position plays a critical role to coordinate with operational stakeholders across legal, servicing, sales admin teams to ensure smooth deal execution, efficient communication, and timely content launches.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Support on Sales Planning & Deal Execution

  • Understanding the censorship status of NBCUniversal content, ensuring all approvals align with deal timelines and client expectations.
  • Support pre-sale feasibility checks, providing insight on submission lead times, quota requirements, and clearance constraints that may impact deal structure or release timing.
  • Maintain efficient content censorship and certification workflows, including coordination of submission materials, documentation, and regulatory filings through the relevant authorities, prioritizing titles based on sales commitments and plans.
  • Maintain detailed and organized tracking of all submissions, censorship & registration approvals, and related correspondence to enable smooth internal sales reporting and forecasting.

 

2. Coordination with Global Servicing and Internal Stakeholders

  • Serve as the central liaison within sales organization with global servicing, legal, and sales admin teams to monitor progress, address operational issues, and communicate clearance status/requirements to support revenue recognition and deal completion.
  • Support post-sale operations, ensuring accurate delivery, timely follow-ups, and consistent communication with clients regarding approvals and launch schedules.
  • Work closely with servicing, legal, and sales admin teams in LA to align China workflows with corporate standards while adapting to local market conditions.

 

3. Manage External Vendors and Third-Party Coordination

  • Coordinate daily workflows and submissions with external vendors, third-party service providers, and clients involved in censorship, including all censorship preparation and delivery.
  • Ensure all vendors follow NBCUniversal’s compliance and confidentiality standards in handling content and materials.
  • Track vendor performance, turnaround times, and deliverables, escalating any issues that may affect deal delivery or client commitments.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and external certification partners to ensure timely submission, accurate documentation, and successful approvals.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

 

  • Relevant experience in content operations, censorship management, or media distribution.
  • Strong understanding of China’s specific requirements on censorship for film and television distribution.
  • Outstanding project management, multitasking, and coordination skills.
  • Native Mandarin speaker, with reasonable command of English, particularly in written communication to work with stakeholders in different offices.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a support-driven role working within Sales in a fast-paced sales environment.
