Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Summer 2026 Recruitment Timeline:  

November 10 – December 5: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume) 

Mid November – Late December: First round video interviews  

Mid – Late January: Second round interviews 

Late January – February: Selected candidates receive offers 

Summer 2026 Internship Program:

The Advertising & Partnerships division is a multifaceted organization that connects the content portfolio of NBCUniversal to advertisers, brand partners, and consumers. The division is broken out broadly into five core business areas: Ad Sales, which manages relationships with agencies and businesses of all sizes; Advertising Product & Solutions, which develops, operationalizes, and scales the products and solutions that enable innovation, automation, and performance across our ad sales ecosystem; Insights & Measurement, which provides campaign-level insights and scalable, tech-driven performance measurement and automation; Enterprise, Marketing & Communications, which manages NBCUniversal's brand and storytelling across the marketplace, and Platform Monetization, which owns and optimizes the entire Pitch-to-Pay process, from building and pricing innovative plans to delivering industry-leading customer service, and driving growth through upsells and renewals. Together, these groups combine to support the division's mission to be the industry's most valuable partner for maximizing media effectiveness for clients of all sizes.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Creative: The Creative team delivers impactful, award-winning solutions that fuse brands with NBCUniversal’s IP, leveraging top-tier talent across scripting, directing, design, production, and editorial to craft resonant, cutting-edge stories. As B2B brand storytellers, they generate bespoke, non-content-dependent ideas that support major initiatives like the Upfront and experiential events. Their work spans platforms and genres, bringing to life brand narratives that are as strategic as they are visually compelling.
  • Brand Partnerships: The Brand Partnerships team is responsible for developing and executing high-impact, cross-platform brand integrations and sponsorships—often tied to major cultural moments and tentpole events like the Olympics, BravoCon, and the Latin Billboard Music Awards. They collaborate closely with Development, Creative, and Sales to ensure brand alignment, manage escalations, and deliver bespoke solutions that resonate with both clients and audiences.
  • Trade Marketing: The Trade Marketing team’s mission is to generate demand and drive revenue by elevating NBCU’s brand in the marketplace through strategic communications, thought leadership, and client engagement initiatives. The team is structured across three core areas—Industry Marketing, Partner Marketing, and Content & Growth Marketing—and is responsible for producing best-in-class trade campaigns, sales enablement tools, tentpole event activations, and CRM-driven marketing efforts.
  • Development: The Development team creates sellable content partnerships and sponsorships that connect brands with NBCUniversal’s IP, products, and audiences. They act as content and idea specialists, working closely with the network and strategy teams to unlock opportunities and define innovative, sellable products—especially across platforms like Peacock and streaming. The Development team brings deep content expertise to shape bespoke brand integrations and activations.
  • Communications: The Communications team ensures the organization stays connected—internally through updates like Office Hours and Sales Meetings, and externally by managing media relations for press-worthy client, agency, and partner activations. They help shape the narrative by sharing meaningful developments, spotlighting industry leadership, and highlighting the impact of NBCUniversal’s products and partnerships. Through strategic storytelling, they keep both employees, and the marketplace informed and engaged.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. Spring 2026 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2026 internship program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week from June 1 – August 7, 2026.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.

For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.  

Desired Characteristics:

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Strong interest in the media industry.
  • (Communications) Experience or coursework in communications/public relations preferred 
  • (Trade Marketing) Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Canva and Adobe products (Illustrator, Photoshop; Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and data-based insights
  • (Creative) A finger on the pop-culture pulse and trends across the entertainment industry. Organizational, project management, and production skills. Ability to brainstorm revenue-generating ideas to live in NBCU properties. Passion about pop-culture, News, Daytime, Talk and Syndication, and Entertainment

The hourly rate for student interns is $19.00.
