Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. Job Description

The NBCUniversal News Group Digital organization is creating the digital future for the most impactful news brands in the industry, including NBC News and TODAY. We are responsible for building and improving our suite of digital products to serve millions of users across our digital platforms.

The Project Management Office is seeking a Project Manager who will plan, execute, manage, and deliver complex, multi-dimensional projects in an Agile environment. You will manage cross-functional initiatives that enable and support business goals. You will partner closely with your Product, Engineering, and Design counterparts to deliver strategic initiatives with operational excellence.

You will support our CMS and Content API teams, who are responsible for critical Editorial tools and services that power content across our suite of products.

This role requires strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills to effectively manage projects and programs in and across the organization - with diverse teams, key stakeholders, and senior executives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (product, design, engineering) to set goals and drive product development and features from concept to delivery in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understand, advocate for, and execute against business goals, driving projects and OKR delivery.
  • Translate OKRs into executable roadmaps; manage trade-offs across product priorities, capacity, and risk.
  • Identify and document project timelines with clear milestones and owners; manage execution against milestones and project targets.
  • Create and maintain project and team artifacts and documentation, including project plans, timelines, and centralized Confluence repositories.
  • Orchestrate cross-team dependencies, driving alignment on project and program delivery across the portfolio.
  • Evoke an appropriate sense of urgency around priorities within and across teams.
  • Resolve impediments and build consensus when conflicts arise.
  • Manage project and sprint scope and unplanned requirements.
  • Identify and manage project risks; implement mitigation plans to minimize impact.
  • Build high-performing teams by partnering cross-functionally to improve team processes and continuously optimize efficiencies.
  • Drive predictability, improve quality, and flow efficiency of teams.
  • Partner with teams to optimize practices and incorporate the most effective techniques to ensure delivery.
  • Manage, assess, communicate, and improve project and team health using qualitative and quantitative measures.
  • Communicate project and program status with supporting relevant information (including project meeting notes, key decisions).
  • Publish delivery dashboards and reports.
  • Ensure collaboration and transparency through communication and partnerships with all levels of business and technology.
  • Build effective, highly collaborative, and meaningful partnerships with key stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
  • Facilitate and lead Agile ceremonies - daily standups, iteration planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct experience in a Project Manager role directly involved with managing and delivering technology projects.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Scrum Master capacity with Agile methodologies.

Desired Qualities:

  • Technical background and fluency - comfortable with APIs, content management systems.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Excellent oral and written communications; ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Industry experience in new/interactive digital media and publishing tools, content publishing workflows, and editorial tooling.
  • Experience in establishing and refining Agile and Project Management processes.
  • Strong problem-solving/facilitation skills.
  • Strong dependency management skills.
  • Experience operating and influencing others in a matrixed organization.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $130,000 - $160,000 (bonus eligible)
