Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

Programme Essentials 

To join one of our 12-month Internships you must meet one of the following criteria: 

  1. You’re currently an undergraduate studying at University and returning to full time education in Autumn 2027 
  2. You’re looking to gain work experience after completing your A-Levels, an equivalent course or an Apprenticeship 

Additionally, you must be eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the internship from Monday 29th June 2026 – Friday 23rd July 2027.

What will I be doing? 

Providing accurate and pro-active admin support to the UK Sales team, identifying and quickly responding to changing requirements and priorities. 

  • Managing the daily box office downloads, checking and correcting any discrepancies and correlating final numbers for sign off with the Sales Manager. 
  • Creating an update Universal Slate Deck in Powerpoint to be used and updated by Sales Team at trade and industry. 
  • Liaising with Finance support team in all Box Office receipt queries as required by sales team 
  • Maintaining market release dates for all films in Universal Box Office system 
  • Organising exhibitor screenings & feedback, plus events when required to do so 
  • Running market analysis when required 

What will I learn from this opportunity? 

Working across the broad range of Universal’s UK slate, the successful applicant will gain experience in distributing films so virtually every audience demographic. 

You will gain commercial insights and an understanding of how the sales team functions both within the Universal eco system, but how we trade and negotiate with external clients including cinemas and film festivals. 

There will be scope to get hands-on experience with data analysis tasks, tracking performance of Universal’s titles whilst identifying market trends and opportunities for growth. 

Qualifications

What do I need to bring to the role? 

  • A keen interest in film and desire to understand more about the business of film distribution. 
  • Solid knowledge of all Microsoft office programs with particular focus on Powerpoint and Excel. 
  • Good communications skills both written and oral, plus the ability to work well in a team.

  • Ability to apply initiative when required, work well within pressured timeframe and a fast-paced environment.
