Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

This is a part-time project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 4 - 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. 

As a Freelance Video Production Assistant, you will primarily be working with Peacock Products team along with the core digital video production team. This role includes day-to-day producing and editing of original sports video and highlights for distribution across all of NBC Sports’ digital platforms. 


Responsibilities:

  • Edit highlight packages in real time for events across the NBC Sports portfolio, with an emphasis on NBA
  • Clip segments from live sporting events and studio shows in real time
  • Respond quickly to video requests from digital team
  • Assist in the creation of sales/sponsored content
  • Produce and edit short features, highlight packages and sponsored videos for multiple platforms
  • Proactively pitch and execute new original video concepts
  • Create graphics to enhance digital video content

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum one (1) years’ experience in television production, and/or digital media production
  • Proficient editing in an Avid environment
  • Creatively proficient in Photoshop

  • Demonstrated knowledge of sports; particularly NBA
  • Possess a high level of initiative
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Team player

Salary range: $20/hour
