Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist provides HR counsel and support to Supervisors/Managers and hourly Team Members at the Hollywood Theme Park, with a heavy emphasis on maintaining positive employee relations. The role also serves as a liaison with other HR departments including Staffing/Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, HRIS, Labor Relations, etc. to help resolve issues and assist with HR process coordination.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide HR support with a special emphasis on conducting investigations & providing resolutions of concerns related to employee complaints, misconduct. Investigate Team Member workplace situations including claims of harassment, discrimination and policy violations.
- Provide advice to managers and supervisors regarding employee relations and performance issues. Review and approve performance reviews, employee counseling, performance plans and other disciplinary actions. Ensure that corrective Team Member coaching and counseling is handled in a fair and consistent manner by leaders.
- In collaboration with L&OD, manage annual HR process coordination for assigned client groups (performance evaluations, employee satisfaction survey/TSAT, 360 feedback, etc)
- Provide support to client groups by interacting and communicating with Team Members in the park, visiting break rooms and offices to promote positive relations and proactively address potential issues.
- Provide advice and consultation for front-line hourly Team Members regarding benefits, payroll questions, policy interpretations, and EAP issues. Provide direction for internal transfer and career paths including on-boarding plans, Intern programs, seasonal supervisor opportunities, and related follow-up paperwork.
- Partner with the Timekeeper team on payroll problems and resolutions. Work closely with HRIS on resolving SAP issues and ensuring accuracy of Team Member data.
- Support the TSAT team efforts by assisting client group management with communication and action planning. Collaborate with management on initiatives to improve Team Member morale and reinforce core values.
- Partner with Labor Relations to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and to assist in resolving grievances.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Management or related field required.
- Minimum 3 years Human Resources experience in a large-scale organization and fast paced environment.
- Working knowledge of employee relations, staffing and payroll.

- Experience with an HRMS such as SAP.
- Experience in both non-union and union/represented environments and retail or hospitality industry highly preferred.
- Ability to research and analyze various different type of data information.

- This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
