The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

Job Summary

The NBCUniversal Creative Group is seeking a visionary Creative Director, Copy, to develop compelling copy for corporate initiatives that resonates with varied audiences. In this role, you will oversee the development of creative content across various platforms while ensuring brand consistency and innovation.  You are an organized, collaborative, and highly motivated self-starter with an insatiable intellectual curiosity.  You will collaborate closely with designers, strategists, Comms leadership and other team members to bring ideas to life and drive our brand's voice.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and inspire the creative team by developing original and impactful copy that aligns with our brand vision and objectives
  • Write and edit high-quality copy for various mediums, including digital, print, social media, video, email, and advertising campaigns
  • Ensure all copy aligns with brand guidelines and voice while staying ahead of industry trends and consumer preferences
  • On an as-needed basis, draft documents for the Corp Comms team, such as internal communications, talking points, media pitches, executive notes and blog posts
  • Collaborate with the business stakeholders and Digital Content Creator to develop and implement strategies for engaging online content that drives traffic and enhances user experience
  • Work alongside design team to conceptualize and execute creative strategies that enhance partner creative and bring campaigns to the next level
  • Collaborate with team leadership, clients and stakeholders to understand their vision and translate it into compelling content
  • Present and articulate copy ideas to stakeholders, incorporating feedback while maintaining the integrity of the creative vision
  • Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to grammar and style rules, delivering high-quality content
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, managing timelines and delivering work on schedule.
  • Supervise and mentor one direct report—
    • Manage and Mentor Copy Manager, providing constructive feedback and fostering skill development and best practices

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 5-10 years experience as a copywriter with a strong portfolio showcasing creative work
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field
  • Previous experience in a leadership or directorial role is preferred
  • Solid understanding of branding, marketing principles, and consumer psychology
  • Understanding of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok etc), algorithms, formats, best practices, trends and how to best develop content to maximize engagement.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
