Job Description
The Supervising Producer will oversee all entertainment news content from New York. That includes planning coverages, pitching, and assigning stories, coordinating live guests as well as supervising entertainment team in New York.
Job Duties:
- Oversee team of producers and reporters for the entertainment news department in New York.
- Work closely with technical functions within NBC News (Rockefeller center) to complete all tasks on budget and following all compliance aspects.
- Keep up to date with entertainment news events and community topics in New York.
- Create and maintain relationships with freelancers across New York to cover content all kind of content.
- Work closely with daily show leads on content needs for each format.
- Maintain a steady stream of entertainment content for all daily shows and specials.
- Generate guest ideas daily, tapping into a broad array of sources for ideas.
- Gather and verify news and features information for presentation on air, online and for mobile.
- Develop and produce live guest segments.
- Implement work independently with guidance from the Executive producer of Hoy Dia.
- Identify and book compelling guests for the show, following booking protocols.
- Conduct pre-interviews of guests and based on their responses, script questions for use by anchors and reporters.
- Review and write scripts/copy when needed.
- Manage and arrange any necessary travel logistics for crews and guests.
- Secure elements such as sound bites and video to support segments.
- Partner with other departments as needed (such as, Tech Ops in Miami and NBC, and Satellite Operations) to place and follow-up on requests.
- Actively participate in daily meetings with story pitches of interest to our viewers.
- Develop and maintain contacts with community, popular entertainers, musicians, and key figures.
- Develop enterprise and exclusive content.
- Collaborate with producers, managers, and photographers to conceptualize, write and produce stories.
- Stay informed regarding current events on a national, international, and regional level.
- Manage completion of release forms as and permits as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Works under the direct supervision of the executive producer of Hoy Dia and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the production TV production, cable TV and Post Production
- Experience in studio and EFP shoots for TV as well as in managing small and basic units of production
- Ability to prioritize work and multitask over a wide range of responsibilities, often under tight and changing deadlines.
- Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish (written and oral).
- Eligibility Requirements:
- Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends
- Willingness to work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

Additional Requirements:
- This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite. (30 Rock)
