Role Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Counsel, Global Legal Operations & Innovation, the Director will primarily support the effective administration of the corporate legal budget, as well as manage key relationships with vendors whose products support the global legal function. In addition, the Director will assist with a wide variety of Legal Operations projects, including support of Legal’s professional development endeavors, that help maintain the efficient and effective delivery of legal services across NBCUniversal.
Job Duties
- Handle day-to-day preparation, monitoring, and management of the corporate legal budget
- Manage planning and administration for annual budget cycles, as well as ad hoc needs throughout the year
- Interface with NBCU’s General Counsel and Senior Legal Team regarding budget issues
- Work closely with Finance and HR partners on budget forecasts, plans, entries, updates, and accruals as needed
- Own vendor relationships for applications within the Legal Operations portfolio
- Solve issues related to broad portfolio of legal applications that support the legal function
- Support Legal’s professional development activities in partnership with HR
- Assist with process improvements and other special projects as needed across the Legal Operations portfolio
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience working in a corporate environment
- Experienced with at least one financial management application, preferably including SAP
- Experienced in Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Desired Characteristics
- Superior understanding of budgeting and general financial planning & management within a large organization, preferably within a legal department
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and resolve issues
- High level of professionalism, including ability to handle extremely sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care
- Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills, including ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Organizational, project management and administrative skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including a professional presence, experience as a team player, and ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with other individuals across the company
- Attention to detail and willingness to take initiative; self-starter who is organized and able to work without close supervision
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Experience in entertainment/media or legal field preferred
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week
