Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Finance in GolfNow’s International HQ in Belfast, the Senior Finance Manager will manage Balance Sheet integrity and develop a structure for consolidated reporting for entities across the group. They will standardise processes to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives as the business scales and positions itself as the hub of International operations for GolfNow.

They will be a key member of the Belfast Finance team, adding real value to the business by providing expertise, information and reports to inform and contribute to strategic decision making through key responsibilities that include; 

  • Consolidation and compilation of data warehouse downloads into monthly P&L / BS format with corresponding Budget, LY figures in multiple currencies.
  • Review and preparation of monthly journal entries as part of monthly and quarterly close in accordance with US and local GAAP.
  • Project accounting including streamlining and improving existing sales ordering process.
  • Compilation of required data for regular budgeting / forecasting based on previous and expected performance, including expected improvements and timely submission in multiple currencies.
  • Management of loading process of Estimates/Budgets into BPC (consolidation) system.
  • Business Warehouse interrogation / analysis including experience building profit / cost centre reports, BU P&L reports in BPC and explanation of variances thereof.
  • Balance sheet management for multiple entities in different currencies / jurisdictions and overseeing the intercompany process. Reporting on cash balances, working capital movements and taxation estimates / computation reconciliations.
  • Implementing accounting policies for a new company and build out of Chart of Accounts accepted by the local Governing body (France).
  • Entity and GL maintenance in the accounting system including but not limited to strike offs, cleanups, liaising with the Company Secretary function on Statutory submissions and liaising with auditors. Statutory accounting for non-USGAAP entities for submission to local governing body.
  • Business unit P&L and management responsibility including mentoring and coaching of junior staff, outlining, and improving processes and creating / developing new KPIs.
  • Maintenance of SQL database for expanding and growing Revenue stream for capture and analysis of high-volume transactions.

Qualifications

It is essential that candidates can demonstrate that they have:

  • Chartered Accountant status and experience (min 7 years post-qualification in industry) with the ability to demonstrate a solid accounting background and technical expertise
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of creating / modifying chart of accounts for Statutory Reporting
  • Extensive use of Excel functionality at an advanced level.
  • Exceptional numeracy, analytical and conceptual skills
  • Strong ERP / data consolidation systems experience, knowledge and understanding

Additional skills and experience that would be desirable:

  • Experience in company with foreign subsidiaries in SAAS industry
  • Experience in using SAP and BPC and SQL
  • Experience of collaborating across multiple functions and operating within a wider matrixed environment and global context
  • French language skills are not required but would be a distinct advantage
