Job Description

''Meet the Press with Kristen Welker” is looking for a Researcher/Production Associate with exceptional editorial skills, strong news judgment, a demonstrated expertise in covering politics and policy, as well as strong tape, digital and social skills.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with graphic artists and graphics coordinator to conceive, develop and execute graphics
  • Translate political polling to television, with attention to detail
  • Generate and pitch show ideas, program guests and franchise segments
  • Produce political panel
  • Gather sound and assist with ''Meet the Press'' interview elements and spots
  • Produce guest research and write questions for ''Meet the Press'' moderator
  • Shoot and edit stories for digital and social platforms, and elements for broadcast
  • Edit show promos, early release clips and other show franchises
  • Identify top news-making moments for NBC News affiliates
  • Assist with show archiving
  • Edit and socialize breakout clips for social platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and meetthepress.com
  • Contribute to “Meet the Press” blog
  • Assist with podcast production for ''The Chuck ToddCast'' and other audio projects

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in news production
  • At least 2 years of tape, field and editing experience
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Must be willing to work in Washington, DC
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available to work Saturdays & Sundays as part of the regular weekly schedule and evenings and holidays as required

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
