More Americans watch NBC News, MSNBC and CNBC than any news organization in the world. NBC News’ leading and award-winning television news broadcasts include TODAY, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, Meet the Press with Chuck Todd and Dateline NBC. MSNBC is the #2 network across all of cable and is the premiere destination for breaking news, award-winning content, in-depth analysis and informed perspectives. CNBC is the recognized world leader in business news and provides real-time financial market coverage, business and general news content, and primetime reality programming, consumed by more than 557 million people per month across all platforms. The rapidly-growing NBC News Digital Group – including its streaming news services NBC News NOW and TODAY All Day – and the network’s award-winning original podcast and audio unit provide continuous content to consumers wherever they are, whenever they want it.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

CNBC Digital Development

Digital Development interns will develop and create compelling video content that works effectively across various platforms and resonates with different audiences, work closely with video producers to help keep our audience up to date on the latest business news, grow CNBC’s audience, and craft mini documentaries that explain how the business world works. Your primary assignments will be to use photoshop to develop engaging thumbnails and work on transcription.

CNBC Direct to Consumer Marketing

DTC Marketing interns will assist with the design and execution of subscription marketing campaigns, help support email marketing campaigns, develop marketing copy for marketing campaigns, and manage projects for marketing campaigns and special offers. Interns will also track marketing results with data analytics to develop solutions for the marketing group and support the marketing team with testing and QA support.

CNBC Social Media

The Social Media intern will work with the U.S. editorial social media team to help manage CNBC’s social presence on our flagship accounts. You’ll work closely with social media editors to help keep our readers up to date on the latest business news, grow CNBC’s audience, and craft our social voice. You’ll get hands-on experience writing and producing content for platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and more.

CNBC On Air Promotions

Interns will be instructed and become fully immersed in the CNBC Marketing & Creative Services Department. Responsibilities will vary from day to day and could include assisting producers with the production of on-air & marketing materials specifically: screening & logging tapes, music selection, obtaining b-roll footage. Duties may also include possible script writing assignments and working with producers & crew on location during promo shoots: keeping take sheets, scene continuity, and other responsibilities as needed.

CNBC Talent Development

Interns will have the opportunity for a hands-on learning experience in several aspects of production, strategic planning, and project management. Interns will collaborate across departments on special projects ranging from conducting research to creating and producing clip reels. Students will also observe and shadow producers in the control room and studio and interact with talent.

This intern will support members of the CNBC Councils Business Operations team, reporting primarily to the Engagement Manager, CNBC Councils, and working closely with the Senior Director, Member Acquisition Manager, and Planning & Operations Analyst. The intern may also have the opportunity to work on projects with the CNBC Events Audience Development team, supporting marketing and audience-building initiatives in the leadup to and following CNBC’s series of franchise events.
