Job Description

The ALM Engineering team is looking for a well-rounded IT professional with strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills, some development experience, and strong systems administration skills. 

Our Site Reliability Engineers are addressing gaps and continually improving engineering services and the delivery of devices. They automate away manual processes to increase reliability and reduce operational costs. They will track down defects and come up with innovative solutions to improve reliability and availability

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of the production environment and ensure a speedy resolution of issues
  • Addressing gaps and continually improve engineering services and delivery of devices
  • Ensuring that support documentation is produced, maintained and improved
  • Automating away manual processes to increase reliability and reduce operational costs
  • Executing and delivering SRE standard methodologies across Endpoint Engineering team
  • Tracking down defects and come up with innovative solutions to improve reliability and availability
  • Implementing and managing new cloud based modern device management solutions and workflows
  • Staying up to date with new technologies and researching those that may benefit the company
  • Solving business needs with technology by evaluating different technologies, and products
  • Assisting with: design, implementation, and documenting processes & procedures required for projects, and services
  • Implementing new systems, upgrades, and modifications (Including planning, testing, coordinating, and scheduling)
  • Taking ownership of problem management activities
  • Providing tier-three support in problem / issue escalations
  • Interface, collaborate, and coordinate efforts with vendors and other departments in the company
  • Providing training to internal teams on technical solutions and proposals

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Information Technology, with 5-7+ years in desktop / end user systems engineering and administration
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong business acuity, including understanding and practical application of relevant market/industry trends
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment and to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring strong communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ideal experience would include time in a medium to large enterprise with 10,000+ employees and 2,500+ devices.
  • Experience with the software/hardware infrastructure and cloud modern device management solutions used to manage and maintain endpoint devices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows and Mac OS, Virtual Desktop Cloud technologies, and should also be comfortable using the latest MDM practices, Zero Touch Deployment methods, automation practices and procedures, data integrity, and analytical reporting experience.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and routing protocols
  • Comfortable with IT security and compliance best practices
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient in automated workstation build methodologies.
  • Experience working with software packaging and deployment systems.
  • Ability to produce detailed technical documentation
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and effectively complete job assignments under time and supervisory pressure
  • Strong automation and scripting skills. (Bash, Perl, Python, PowerShell)
  • Experience working with MS IntraAD, Jamf Pro, SCCM, Intune, Workspace One, and/or other cloud based MDM tools
  • Working knowledge and experience with virtualization technologies
  • Experience with implementing, deploying, and supporting desktop infrastructure
  • Extensive familiarity with major application configurations

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
