Job Description

The  Circles of Care Marketing, Data and Community Outreach Specialist position works with community members, community partners and staff in implementing a community-based social marketing/public education plan using data collected to increase the awareness of child/youth mental health and wellness issues. The Marketing, Data and Community Outreach Specialist utilizes a variety of strategies such as a Youth-guided Print Ad Campaign and public education training in defining a community-based system of care blueprint. 

The position uses data and helps community members and youth understand and build a system related to the community needs assessment and system of care, The Marketing, Date and Community Outreach Specialist works closely with the program manager, the staff, internal and external partners to ensure an ongoing coordinated and collaborative data collection and data management system.

This position is supervised and under the direction of the Circle of Care (CoC) Program Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  1. Participate in designing survey and collection methods with evaluator to measure training resources effectiveness, asset mapping outcomes, implementation plan and   enter data in reporting systems as it relates to the program’s goals and objectives and identified by the CoC manager.
  2. Execute a social marketing strategy by identifying sources of information, including Community-based Participatory Research (CBPR) program materials, system of care framework and approach, trauma informed care and assist in creating training materials for community meetings, provider training and youth-led training.

  3. Create an awareness and buy-in support for the system of care approach through community awareness and participation in Maricopa County. 

  4. Serves as the administrative support to CoC Manager and Program staff.

  5. Supports the organization as needed.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABLITIES:

  1. Minimum three to four years of experience in community-development and managing social media in an urban setting.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, education or other related fields preferred.
  3. Strong research skills and the ability to provide insightful commentary. 
  4. Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of data collection, research and assessment and the ability to maintain confidentiality of client information;
  5. Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communications skills.
  6. Ability to maintain effective relationships with children, youth and family, staff and diverse  community members in explaining data collection efforts and CBPR research; familiarity of the cultural, social, and economic backgrounds of the urban  American Indian/Alaska Natives living in Phoenix and surrounding areas;
  7. Ability to work independently and to maintain a detail oriented approach;
  8. Must be familiar and comfortable performing data entry and computer functions; and
  9. Knowledge of educational practices as applied to data extraction, manipulation, analysis and reporting preferred.
  10. Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a diverse setting.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. A degree in education, health/social sciences, marketing, evaluation or related field; two (2) years of experience; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  2. Must have excellent research skills in supporting CoC Evaluation Plan, Systems of Care implementation and Marketing Plan.
  3. Data entry, management and reporting experience at an advanced level.
  4. Must have good communication skills, both written and oral.
  5. Capacity for self-motivation and ambition with minimal supervision (work in the field and outreach).
  6. Must have experience using PC based, networked computer software and hardware and other office automation tools.
  7. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
  8. Must be 25 years of age and possess a valid and unrestricted Arizona driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if applicant is from out-of-state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years. Must maintain a valid AZ driver license during employment. Must be insurable by NATIVE HEALTH’s liability auto policy.
  9. Must pass a criminal background check with a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the initial ninety (90) calendar days of employment.
  10. Must pass a substance abuse testing upon employment and submit to a random testing during the course of employment.
  11. Must have an updated Immunization Record.
  12. Must have a current (within 12 months) Tuberculosis (TB) skin report upon employment and provide an update annually.
  13. Must obtain a CPR Card within ninety (90) days calendar days of employment and maintain a valid CPR card during employment.
