Job Description

The Strategic HR Seagoing recruiter uses knowledge of business strategy, market trends and the organisation's work, needs and perceptions to develop strategies and strategic goals for the recruitment team that reflect a balance between achieving the financial goals of the business and satisfying the needs of senior and line management. The strategic HR Seagoing recruiter organises and uses information effectively and helps create an environment conducive to improving performance.

The Strategic HR Recruiter is a true advocate who helps the HR Recruitment Manager to balance the day-to-day operational challenges of the business in Mystic Cruises and Mystic Ocean.

Together with the Crewing Team is responsible for the vessel rotation planning and monitoring of signed off crew, to ensure that all crew receive a new assignment well in time to guarantee their employment within the company.

 

To achieve this, the Recruiter:

  • Analysing rotas and identifying the best directions for recruitment.
  • Verify possible recruitment actions considering the company's KPIs.
  • Actively work together with the crew officers who manage the rota plans.
  • Identify possible actions to reduce employee turnover on board.
  • Strategically identifies potential recruitment agencies and areas.
  • Ensures that any recruitment needs are identified.
  • Prepares and posts positions on Smartrecruiters to attract candidates.
  • Manages Smartrecruiters globally for the Seagoing HR department.
  • Checks MXP activities to ensure correct allocation of positions and pay scales.
  • Monitors the scheduled crew to ensure that all documents are received on time and that all crew changes are communicated to the agents and the ship in good time.
  • As part of the team, is responsible for updating the HR team's systems.
  • Regularly ensures that redundant files are deleted from the systems.
  • Checks the promotion list and ensures that the crew recommended for promotion is monitored and that promotions are processed accordingly.
  • Handles communication with direct candidates and manages.

Qualifications

  • Experience in recruiting seagoing personnel.
  • Strategic vision for recruitment.
  • Shipboard experience and experience with MLC & ILO legislation is an advantage.
  • Very strong administrative skills.
  • High level of organorganizals.
  • Advanced English is mandatory (other languages are a plus).
  • Experience with MXP is a plus.
  • Experience with Smart Recruiters is a plus.
  • High level with Microsoft Office.
