    Job Description

    The Fleet Hotel Cost and Inventory Controller will manage and control all aspects related to Hotel Cost Control and Inventory Management across the Company’s fleet.

    The Fleet Hotel Cost and Inventory Controller will be responsible for inventories, budgets, cost control and reports of the fleet’s hotel food, beverages, and consumables, providing financial valuable support to the onboard and shoreside teams, and contributing to positive business outcomes, through informed analysis and reporting. He/she will lead the effort to keep onboard and shoreside teams on track and motivated, ensuring best results while delivering an outstanding product to the Company’s guests.

    Qualifications

    College Degree/Diploma and/or Hotel Management School or other relevant apprenticeship in the food service industry required.

    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience onboard a cruise ship as Inventory controller or Provision Master.
    • Food, Beverage and Hotel Supplies product knowledge is required.
    • Previous Accounting and/or Hotel Stores, Hotel Cost Controller / Inventory controller experience beneficial.
    • The candidate must be free for travelling to worldwide destinations to work on board our cruise ships, whilst leading and training the onboard teams.
    • Must be able to lead a multinational team and to communicate and implement corrective action steps in an effective, yet diplomatic fashion.
    • Able to work and plan, under constraints of timetables.
    • Self-motivated and have an analytical/problem solving capabilities.
    • Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
    • Must have very good administrative skills (proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a good knowledge in MXP - beneficial)
    • Must have excellent organizational skills and show attention to detail.

    Additional Information

    Inventory & Logistics:

    • Management of all onboard inventories within the hotel operation fleetwide, through the effective and accurate management of the MXP system.
    • Ensuring Company standards and procedures of inventory control are in place and maintained across the fleet, including but not limited to receiving and storing; waste prevention and spoilage management, compliance with sanitary standards such as Shipsan and USPH, training of department crews onboard, reporting to shoreside Directors, monitoring loading plans in collaboration with the Purchasing Dpt. and the onboard Provisions teams.
    • Inventory spot checks, analysis of high consumption, slow moving items with a view to improve stock management and cost-savings.
    • Inventory and stock reporting and budgeting.
    • Participate in the logistic planning for all vessel supplies

     

    Safety and environmental responsibilities

    • The Fleet Hotel Cost and Inventory Controller is knowledgeable of and will comply with all safety and environmental regulations for each particular ship and areas of operation.
    • Familiar with the Company Safety and Environmental Policy and will promote sustainable practices and sustainable purchasing.
    • Aware of the applicable ISM, ISPS, MLC Conventions and will comply with the Company’s SMS, as well as any other mandatory requirements.
    • Familiar with Public Health regulations and requirements and will comply and promote the Company’s sanitation and Public Health standards.

     

    Security responsibilities

    • The Fleet Hotel Cost and Inventory Controller will comply with the Company’s and ships’ Security and Cyber Security requirements.
    • Confidentiality: All information detained by Fleet Hotel Cost and Inventory Controller is strictly confidential and may not be disclosed without the prior agreement of the Head Office.

     

    Financial responsibilities

    Cost Control:

    To overview the preparation of cost analyses, food, beverage, and hotel supplies cost reporting on a cruise basis along with recommending improvement options to reduce costs.

    Monitoring and preparing daily food cost reports for the fleet.

    Supporting the onboard departments by anticipating needs and solving possible challenges. Recommending actions to maximize financial return (target vs actual).

    Issuing reports on operational KPI and analyzing food cost.

     

    Budgets:

    Responsible for supporting Hotel Directors in all financial budgets and reporting related to hotel supplies, durables, consumables, medical food, beverages. Budget optimization analysis.
