Job Description

1. Responsibility
Our customers are very demanding when it comes to buying high-quality items. You will use tact and taste in advising them what to choose from our extensive range of brand-name textiles, perfumes and cosmetics or accessories. As well as offering advice, you must make sure that the merchandise on view is presented to create a suitable ambience and pleasant atmosphere.
2. Duties
(1) Actively selling and advising customers throughout the shop, with good powers of persuasion and a friendly attitude, as well as being clearly focused on successfully concluding a sale (expert advice, actively approaching customers, offering wide-ranging advice, related sales)
(2) Planning, coordinating and implementing all sales-related activities in consultation with the relevant on-board areas and with head office 
(3) Developing and implementing suitable measures to maximise sales in consultation with head office in Hamburg
(4) Shop Assistant management and coordination, as well as making sure that a high-quality service is provided and that staff are motivated
(5) Updating/refining presentation of merchandise (visual merchandising)
(6) Deciding which merchandise will appear in the shop window and how it will be displayed, as well as deciding on the interior decor, in consultation with head office in Hamburg
(7) Optimising the supply of quality merchandise for the shop in the correct quantities, (stock level and order management)
(8) Responsible for keeping the store and shop clean and tidy
(9) Ensuring orderly cash management and transparent reporting
(10) Prompt handling of tasks and requests from on shore that arise in the Back
Office
(11) Keeping the specified statistics (e.g. sales, staff purchases, returns)
(12) Ensuring that stocktaking takes place correctly
(13) Increasing guest satisfaction
(14) Complying with safety regulations; taking part in safety drills
 

Qualifications

3. Qualifications/professional experience
(1) Completed professional training in the service/trade sector and/or several years’ professional and management experience in sales (preferably textiles, perfumery, watches and/or jewellery)

2) Sound commercial knowledge
(3) Excellent language skills in German and a sound knowledge of English
(4) Extensive PC experience and well-versed in office organisation
(5) Good general education
