Job Description

1. Responsibility
(1) Responsible for the work flow in the assigned area of store keeping.
(2) Daily duties at Provision Master’s (or possibly Assistant Provisions Master’s) order.
(3) Responsible for all operations to be carried out with the utmost economy consistent with the agreed quality standards
(4) Assistance at the compilation of deliveries to the respective departments.
(5) Preparation of the stores for loading
(6) Loading and storing of goods in strict adherence to the set standards
(7) Safeguard of the “access to authorised personnel only” – policy with regard to all stores
(8) Strict adherence to the “first in, first out”-method.
(9) Implementation, introduction and regular checks of logs and check lists
(10) Close cooperation with the Provision Master, including reporting at regular intervals and timely attendance of all conflicts and disturbances in the work flow.
(11) Strict adherence to all agreed regulations (USPH/HACCP, ISM/ISO, SQM, Company Service standards), especially with regard to security, environment and hygiene regulations in his/her area of responsibility
(12) Notification and handling of all relevant (unusual) events, such as changes in consumption but also damages, repairs, security violation etc.

(14) Suitcase carrying assistance
(15) Service assistance (only in special cases)
(16) Cleaning and sanitizing of his/her work place including equipment; wearing/using
PPE (personal protective equipment)
(17) Assistance at securing goods to be seaworthy packed and stored safely even in rough seas
(18) Always aim at continuous improvement
(19) During take-over and shipyard times, additional tasks have to be fulfilled if required.
(20) Constant improvement of the work flow and standards, including input for manuals and regulations.
(21) Secure the careful handling of the company’s properties
(22) Knowledge of the assigned security roll number (from the ship’s articles) and the assigned duties in case of an emergency.

Qualifications

2. Qualification / Job experience
(1) Basic knowledge of storing and F&B operations
(2) Ability to understand business targets
(3) Basic knowledge of U.S.P.H.standards

(4) Basic knowledge of the English (and if possible German) language
