Job Description

1. Responsibility
(1) Leading and supervising the entire Provision Crew, according to the order of the Provision Master.
(2) Responsible to supervise the entire work flow for the Provision and their subordinated employees.
(3) Supervising and maintaining all duties of the required Provision operation and according to the Provision Master’s order.
(4) Partly responsible for all storing and loading operations to be carried out with the utmost economy consistent within the required / agreed quality standards.
(5) Responsible for the compilation of all Provision deliveries to the respective departments.
(6) Ensuring an accurate timing for all deliveries according to “ship-to-promise” the required goods to the departments.
(7) Safeguard of the “access to authorised personnel only” – policy with regard to all stores.
(8) Strict adherence to the “first in, first out”-method.
(9) Implementation, introduction and regular checks of logs and check lists
(10) Close cooperation with the Provision Master, including reporting at regular intervals and timely attendance (written reports!) of all conflicts and disturbances in the work flow.
(11) Strict adherence (and supervision) to all agreed regulations (USPH/HACCP, ISM/ISO, SQM, Company Service standards), especially with regard to security, environment and hygiene regulations in his/her area of responsibility
(12) Notification and handling of all relevant (unusual) events, such as changes in consumption but also damages, repairs, security violation etc.
(13) Inventories
(14) Loading and suitcase carrying assistance, if required.
(15) Supervising and training on all necessary company standards to all subordinated provision crew, such as Storekeeper, Utilities and Loading helpers.
(16) Assistance to the Provision Master on all necessary daily administration duties.
(17) Daily check and assistance for all cleaning and sanitizing duties in the entire Provision area, including equipment; using/wearing PPE (personal protective equipment).
(18) Check and assistance at securing the goods to be seaworthy packed and stored safely even in rough seas.
(19) Always aim at continuous improvement.
(20) Creating sufficient handover notes / documentation for his area of responsibility before leaving the vessel and handover his position.
(21) During ship take-over and shipyard times, additional tasks have to be fulfilled if required.
(22) Constant improvement of the work flow and standards, including input for manuals and regulations.

(23) Secure the careful handling of the company’s properties
(24) Knowledge of the assigned security roll number (from the ship’s articles) and the assigned duties in case of an emergency.
(25) Work on following Guidelines for the warehouse management by the FIFO principle.
(26) Control and documentation of the expiry dates (control mechanisms) and inform the supervisor about mistakes (deviations).

Qualifications

2. Qualification / Job experience
(1) Qualified training in comparable work fields, at least high knowledge of storing principles and details of internal Hotel/F&B operations.
(2) Ability to understand all required business targets
(3) Good knowledge of U.S.P.H. and Ship San. standards
(4) Good knowledge of English language
(5) Good IT knowledge (Outlook, MMS, Word & Excel)
(6) Good educational background
