Job Description

1. Responsibility
(1) Responsible for the work flow in store keeping in close cooperation with the Financial Controller; especially with regard to the co-ordination of the Hotel department’s requirements and the set storing schedule.
(2) In co-operation with the Financial Controller responsible for the analysis and the controlling of the stock on hand on board, the calculation of the expected consumption and the information of the department heads.
(3) Responsible for the stock-on-hand in all main stores
(4) Close co-operation with all hotel departments on board and with the respective Supply Manager shoreside.
(5) Executive authority towards the Store Keeper and the Utility Stores.
(6) Implementation and control of quality standards in the responsible area.
(7) During take-over and shipyard times, additional tasks have to be fulfilled if required.
(8) Close cooperation with the Financial Controller, including reporting at regular intervals and timely attendance (written reports!) of all conflicts and disturbances in the work flow.
(9) Active implementation of the philosophy behind the product
(10) Constant improvement of the work flow and standards, including input for manuals and regulations.
(11) Supervision and training of the strict adherence to all agreed regulations (USPH/HACCP, ISM/ISO, SQM, Company Service standards), especially with regard to security, environment and hygiene regulations in his/her area of responsibility
(12) Implementation, introduction and regular checks of logs and check lists
(13) Duty rooster planning for employees
(14) General office work of different kind according to instructions; data processing, tray system, define responsibilities.
(15) Set up, control and hand off orders for the hotel store for the provision department according to given budget and standards.
(16) Check and control of all ordering processes and movement of goods of all hotel departments.
(17) Plan, do, check and analyse inventories – legwork for the controlling.
(18) Responsible for all operations to be carried out with the utmost economy consistent with the agreed quality standards in co-operation with all department heads.
(19) Secure a safe storing for all good at any time and under any circumstances.
(20) Secure all machines, equipment and store rooms at any time and under any circumstances.
(21) Create a cruise report with all relevant events according to the specifications.
(22) Guarantee the daily deliveries as well with or without deadline requirements.
(23) Guarantee a constant supply readiness even outside of the regular working hours, to secure short term needs and to keep up the guest satisfaction.

(24) Implementation of the “first in, first out”-method.
(25) Responsible for the control procedure for the observance of the best before dates.
(26) Secure the careful handling and care of the company´s properties. The employee is liable for negligence.
(27) Promote and motivate employees towards competent and friendly service by leadership, regular personnel reviews, and (documented) training.
(28) Control and observance of the on board rules in the area of responsibility.
(29) Knowledge of the assigned security roll number (from the ship’s articles) and the assigned duties in case of an emergency.

Qualifications

2. Qualifikation / Job experience
(1) Qualified training in the hotel or restaurant line of business
(2) Many years of job experience in F&B in a leading position or as Assistant Provision Master, if possible onboard a cruise vessel.
(3) Distinct economical, budget-orientated thinking, especially with regard to inventory management
(4) Ability to analyse and explain business targets
(5) Business fluent in written and spoken German and English
(6) Experience in complaint management
(7) Living up to service
(8) Very good IT knowledge, especially in MS Office, Fidelio MMS, Rescom.
(9) Very good educational background
