Job Description

General Responsibilities 

The position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position. Employees may be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Company’s Safety, Quality and Environmental Standards. 

  • To ensure that the highest level Guest Service in the Kids Club is practiced at all times and that the Kids Club Team is working as per company procedures. 

  • To always greet and treat passengers in a friendly and professional manner. 

  • To supervise, coach, train and support the Kids Club team. 

  • To ensure that passenger complaints are always treated in the most diplomatic way. 

  • To have an extensive knowledge about all outlets and services onboard to give the best possible passenger experience. 

  • To organize, plan and execute several Kids Club activities and events for each cruise. 

  • To ensure that the Kids Club programme is planned and published well in advance and that the activities are taking place as advertised. 

  • To attend passenger events and receptions as required. 

  • To ensure that guest satisfaction related to the Kids Club is always as high as possible. 

  • To be present as much as possible in the Kids Club during the day. 

  • To prepare the working schedule for the Kids Club team in cooperation with the Assistant Kids Club Manager. 

  • To ensure that work stations and Kids Club areas are cleaned according to schedule, following the detail of USPH standards.  

  • To submit work orders when deficiencies are noted or when maintenance is required and to follow up on the work orders in a timely manner.  

Financial Responsibilities 

  • Always act in the best interests of the company with regard to minimising costs. 

  • To be cost conscious with the use of office supplies, printed materials and other consumables. 

  • To promote cross promotions and revenue outlets whenever possible. 

  • To ensure that Company property is maintained properly and treated with respect at all times. 

Safety Responsibilities 

  • To be familiar with Ship´s Emergency plans 

  • To be familiar with Safe Working Practices 

  • Emergency Duties: To follow instructions on Safety Card and to participate in Guest/Crew Lifeboat Drills as per instructions. 

  • Other safety responsibilities, as assigned, but not limited to the above. 


Education/Position Requirements 

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a hotel / nursery on land or two (2) years’ experience on board a cruise ship in similar position required.  

  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English as well as German. 

  • Any additional foreign language is a plus. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills.  

  • Must have good administrative and excellent organizational skills. 

  • Must have the ability to always interact with all kind of children in a professional and friendly manner. 

  • Must possess excellent leadership skills and the ability to interact with all levels of people.  

Team Communication and Meetings 


  • To attend daily meetings with the Hotel Director and other Department Heads. 

  • To schedule and attend meetings with the Kids Club team on a regular basis. 

  • Lead subordinates successfully into productive working methods by setting an example and utilising all available management tools.
