Job Description

The Business Data Analyst will accurately record, organise, analyse, and maintain business transactions and administrative data. The role will support management with reliable reports and insights for decision-making while ensuring that business records are complete, accurate, and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate records of all business transactions, including income, expenses, purchases, sales, payments, and other operational activities.
  • Collect, verify, organise, and update business and administrative data.
  • Maintain accurate databases, spreadsheets, transaction logs, and other business records.
  • Reconcile transaction records and identify discrepancies, errors, or missing information.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on business transactions and operational activities.
  • Analyse business data to identify trends, variances, patterns, and areas requiring management attention.
  • Track business expenses, revenues, outstanding payments, and other relevant financial/operational information.
  • Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and business performance reports where required.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of invoices, receipts, payment records, purchase records, and other supporting documents.
  • Provide accurate data and reports to management to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor data quality and ensure information is entered accurately and consistently.
  • Support general administrative activities, including documentation, scheduling, correspondence, and record management.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of business and employee information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection, reporting, and administrative processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, business administration, operations, accounting support, or a similar role.
  • Experience with transaction recording, data management, reporting, and administrative processes.
  • Good understanding of business operations and basic financial records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, data cleaning, and reporting.
  • Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, or business management tools is an advantage.
