Job Description
The Materials Man is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, tracking, and maintaining materials, equipment, spare parts, and consumables required for safe and efficient rig operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Verify materials against purchase orders, delivery notes, and material requests.
- Properly label, catalog, and store materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels.
- Issue materials and equipment to authorized personnel.
- Monitor stock levels and identify replenishment requirements.
- Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure proper storage and preservation of materials.
- Maintain records of materials received, issued, returned, and transferred.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, maintenance, and operations teams.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of materials.
- Ensure hazardous materials are properly identified, stored, and handled.
- Report damaged, missing, expired, or obsolete materials.
- Maintain good housekeeping within stores and material storage areas.
- Prepare inventory and materials reports as required.
- Comply with company HSE, material control, and storage procedures.

Qualifications
- Minimum of OND/HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years' experience in materials management, stores, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Previous experience in oil & gas, marine, offshore, or drilling operations is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
- Basic knowledge of ERP/inventory management systems.
- Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Valid offshore safety certification and medical fitness where applicable.
