Job Description
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and reliable rig operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain electrical systems, equipment, panels, motors, generators, and control systems.
- Conduct preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
- Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs.
- Test electrical equipment and circuits.
- Inspect cables, switches, lighting systems, distribution boards, and electrical installations.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of electrical equipment.
- Maintain electrical tools and test instruments.
- Ensure electrical work complies with approved procedures and standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Participate in electrical isolation and Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
- Report electrical hazards and equipment defects.
- Comply with HSE and electrical safety requirements.

Qualifications
- Minimum of OND/NABTEB/Trade Test in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years relevant electrical maintenance experience, preferably on drilling rigs, offshore vessels, or oil & gas facilities.
- Experience with generators, motors, switchboards, control panels, lighting, and electrical distribution systems.
- Knowledge of electrical safety, isolation, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Relevant electrical certification/licence is an advantage.
- Valid offshore safety certification and medical fitness where applicable.
