Job Description

The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems on the rig to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair engines, pumps, compressors, generators, and other machinery.
  • Conduct routine servicing, lubrication, and adjustment of equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and recommend appropriate repairs.
  • Replace worn or damaged components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, and testing.
  • Ensure tools and workshop equipment are properly maintained.
  • Report equipment defects and potential failures.
  • Comply with company HSE procedures and participate in safety activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of OND/NABTEB/Trade Test in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably on drilling rigs, offshore vessels, or oil & gas facilities.
  • Experience with diesel engines, pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Relevant offshore safety certification such as BOSIET/FOET where applicable.
  • Valid offshore medical fitness certificate.
  • Mechanical maintenance or manufacturer-specific certifications are an advantage.
