Job Description

Our client is  seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Port Harcourt. The successful candidate will support daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial records, and assist with compliance and reporting activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, ledgers, and journals

  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and timely

  • Support bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

  • Assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting

  • Maintain proper documentation for audits and internal reviews

  • Support payroll preparation and statutory deductions where required

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations

  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 0–2 years relevant accounting or finance experience

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

  • Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • ICAN/ACCA (or in progress) is an added advantage
