Job Description

Summary of Role 

The Managing Director holds the pinnacle executive position, responsible for steering the organization with visionary leadership, strategic foresight, and a commitment to operational excellence. This role is paramount to the company's overall performance, long-term sustainability, and robust growth. The ideal candidate is a technically astute leader, possessing profound expertise in Process Engineering, Production Engineering, and Completion Engineering, complemented by a comprehensive understanding of the entire EPC lifecycle, from initial conceptual design through to commissioning and sustained operations. They are a proven leader with a strong engineering foundation, adept at unifying diverse, multidisciplinary teams to successfully execute complex, capital-intensive projects within the dynamic energy, oil & gas, and infrastructure sectors.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Leadership

  • Tasked with the critical responsibility of defining and meticulously implementing the long-term corporate strategies.
  • Crafted strategies must be in perfect alignment with the company's overarching mission, core values, and the paramount interests of its shareholders.
  • Spearheads aggressive business development initiatives aimed at expanding market share across both domestic and international EPC markets, identifying new opportunities, and fostering strategic alliances.
  • Holds direct oversight of crucial financial planning, robust risk management frameworks, and the cultivation of strong stakeholder relations, ensuring transparency and trust.
  • Be a driving force behind fostering innovation, embracing digital transformation, and integrating sustainable practices into every facet of project execution, positioning the company for future challenges and opportunities.

 

Operational Excellence:

 

  • Direct and meticulous coordination of all phases of EPC project execution. From the initial Engineering and Procurement stages to the complexities of Construction, Commissioning,
  • Ensures seamless workflow and meticulous execution.
  • Relentlessly pursuing continuous improvement in project delivery is paramount, guaranteeing that projects are consistently delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality outcomes.
  • Enforcing strict compliance with critical industry standards such as ISO, OSHA, etc., as well as all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Optimization of the supply chain, nurturing strong vendor relationships, and effective subcontractor management are also core to achieving unparalleled operational efficiency.

 

 

Technical Leadership (Engineering Competencies):

  • Provides high-level oversight of all process design activities, including complex simulations, optimization strategies, and critical safety studies like HAZOPs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all engineering deliverables, such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and HAZOP reports, rigorously meet both client specifications and industry code requirements.
  • Reviewing and approving process technology selections, developing robust flow assurance strategies, and establishing efficient process control systems.
  • Oversees critical aspects such as artificial lift methodologies, analysis of reservoir performance, and strategies to enhance well productivity.

Governance & Compliance:

 

  • Ensures that the company operates with the utmost integrity, strictly adhering to all legal, ethical, and corporate governance frameworks.
  • Responsible for presenting comprehensive financial and operational reports to the Board of Directors and shareholders, maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Crucially, enforce rigorous compliance with all contracts, industry standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, and robust Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related engineering field;
  • A Master’s degree or an MBA is highly preferred and will be a significant advantage.
  • They must demonstrate a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience within the oil & gas or broader infrastructure EPC industry, with at least 10 years spent in executive or senior leadership roles.
  • Extensive exposure to the full spectrum of EPC project execution is non-negotiable, encompassing Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design, meticulous procurement processes, and robust construction management.
  • A demonstrated proficiency in Process Engineering, Production Engineering, and Completion Engineering disciplines is essential.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale capital projects, with individual project budgets often exceeding $100 million, and a track record of successfully overseeing complex cross-border operations.
  • Strong commercial acumen is vital, coupled with in-depth contractual knowledge spanning various project delivery models such as EPC, EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management), and PPP (Public-Private Partnership).
  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (PE), or Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) memberships, COREN, or their equivalent, are highly preferred and indicative of a commitment to professional excellence.
