We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Auxiliary Nurse to join their team at a retail pharmacy.The Auxiliary Nurse will provide essential support and assistance to the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy and delivering exceptional care and service to their customers.

Job Description

  • Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide support in managing inventory, including receiving, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Greet and engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Collect and record customer information accurately, including medication history, allergies, and current medications.
  • Assist customers in finding over-the-counter medications, explaining proper usage, dosage instructions, and potential side effects.
  • Prepare and package prescriptions for delivery or pickup, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.
  • Conduct basic health screenings, such as blood pressure checks, blood glucose monitoring, and cholesterol testing.
  • Conduct vaccinations as directed by the company.
  • Educate customers on proper medication usage, potential interactions, and lifestyle modifications for optimal health.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all legal and ethical standards in handling customer information and medication records.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous substances.
  • Assist in processing insurance claims and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to optimize workflow, improve customer service, and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Auxiliary Nursing program and possession of a valid Auxiliary Nursing license.
  • Proven experience working as an Auxiliary Nurse or in a similar healthcare role is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of pharmacy practices, medications, and pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care and build rapport with customers.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software for inventory management, prescription processing, and customer data entry.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing pharmacy operations.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for patient care.

The remuneration is competitive.
