Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced D.G of Chamber and Commerce to hire.As the Director Chamber of Commerce, you will be responsible for a wide variety of strategic and administrative duties to the President and Board Members. The Director General (DG) acts as custodian of the assets of the company and oversees the entire staff and running of the chamber

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Director General (DG) hires and supervises any paid office staff of the chamber, subject to approval by the board, and coordinates all volunteer office workers to execute the directives of the board of directors and the National President.
  • The DG develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan aligned with the goals and objectives of the Chamber.
  • The DG shall be responsible for the maintenance, security and proper recording of the organizations records and assets as required by law and made available as when required by authorized persons; including items loaned, rented or hired.
  • The DG shall act as custodian of minutes, updating resolution and ordinance books in accordance with retention, and oversee filling minutes of any meeting and in an appropriate filling system.
  • The DG shall attend all meetings of the company; represent the organization in external events where necessary and as directed by the board.
  • The DG and/or any member of the staff of the chamber as he may direct shall be made available on request to committee chairmen to be secretary to any committee or sub-committee.
  • The DG shall maintain company committee member lists for: Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Education/Literacy Workforce Development Committee, Military Affairs Committee, Legislative Affairs Committee, Membership/Small Business Committee and other committee meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • Its mandatory to hold a minimum of BA/BSc/HND.
  • Its mandatory to hold an MA/MSc/MBA degree.
  • Membership of a reputable government-recognized professional institute like ICAN, CIPM, NIM, ICSA/ICSAN is desirable, not mandatory.

 Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years work experience, 5 of which must be in a Senior Management level not below the grade of Deputy Director.
  • Applicant should provide proof of successful supervisory experience in a diverse and people-oriented environment.
  • Applicant should provide proof of successful targets achievement in previous jobs.
