Our client is a reputable oil and gas servicing company birthed out of the need to provide marine support to commercial shipping, maritime assets and other related activities taking place within the Nigerian maritime domain. They require a Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment Operations Coordinator, who ensures compliance with quality standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental policies within the organization.

 

Job Description

  • Supporting the organization to ensure compliance of ISO 9001: 2015 certification.
  • Establishing and maintaining a high level of Quality maturity for the organization
  • Establishing process cycle for the organization showing the interaction between various processes within the organization
  • Creating and maintaining a Master Document Register (MDR) for the organization and controlling all documents within the organization
  • Establish a method of measuring and evaluating contractors’ performance.
  • Maintaining an effective and efficient Quality Management System QMS within the environment for continuous improvement.
  • Involving in dry docking activities, planning, corrosion control and inspection.
  • Continuous improvement exercises to include Corrective Action Request (CAR) program.
  • Evaluate constantly the effects of audit observations and personal interactions during an audit.
  • Perform the audit process without deviating due to distraction.
  • Inspect vessels, barges etc. to determine conformance with safety laws and regulations.
  • Inspect materials and evaluate design, fabrication, installation, and operation.
  • Developing and implementing quality control audit plans.
  • Training employees on quality standards and procedures.
  • Preparing and presenting quality audit reports to senior management.
  • Keeping abreast of industry standards and regulations
  • Track data, identify improvement projects, and manages cross functional implementation to improve performance of key components and suppliers (including vessel owners).
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to processes.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Any other task or assignment assigned by Management.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum years of experience should five (5) years with a first degree in Engineering and or other relevant field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or Quality assurance
  • Professional certifications in QHSE, such as NEBOSH, ISO 14001 or ISO 900 is a requirement.  
  • Proven experience working in QHSE role, preferably in an Oil and Gas, Marine Logistics, Marine Security industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to quality, health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Strong understanding of QHSE principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem- solving skills for incident investigations and risk assessment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with various stakeholders
  • Proficient in using relevant software and tools for QHSE management.
  • Detail oriented with a commitment to maintaining high- quality standards.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential health, safety and environmental issues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Adaptability to navigate evolving QHSE requirements.
  • Leadership qualities for driving QHSE initiatives within the organization.
