Company Description
Our client, an educational institution in Benin. They are seeking to hire an experienced and efficient Accountant
The School Accountant oversees financial management, control, and reporting for the School. The role of the School Accountant is key to achieving improved performance and providing Management with financial information to support good business decision-making.
Job Description
- Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenues and liabilities)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
- Forecast costs and revenues
- Manage tax payments
- Organize internal audits
- Prepare budgets (for the entire company and by department)
- Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
- Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments
- Analyze financial trends
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes
- Arrange for the accurate preparation and payment of all salaries, wages and pension contributions and other deductions on time, including PAYE contributions.
Qualifications
- A degree in Accounting/Finance and MBA is preferable
- Preferred Industry background – Education ( School is preferred)
- Experience – A minimum of 5 Years
- Qualification – ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.

- IFRS application, Reconciliations
- Considerable exposure to ERPs
- Transactions Review & Routine Financial Reporting
- Fixed assets management
- Cash flow reporting
- Banking relations
- Regulatory bodies relations
- Management of monthly book close in line with committed timelines
- Periodic control reviews
- Oversight on transactions management (AP, AR, GL, treasury)
- Operations and commercial literacy.
- Detail and process-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and follow-up skills
