Company Description

Our client is an Africa-focused developer of measurable and impactful zero-emission projects under a technology-driven Ecosystem, with a pipeline of projects pertaining to electro - mobility and energy efficiency, commercial electric vehicle charge point operations, and clean power supply systems, at very advanced stages of their development.

The business will operate as a corporate and commercial fleet offered to commuters using EVs in a Technology-Driven Ecosystem with both hardware and software participation. The venture is planned for implementation in two phases, i.e. the Pilot Phase and the Commercial Phase, as collaboration is a Key Success Factor required for an ecosystem to exist, both phases will be driven by multiple partnerships and collaborations. The Venture will be operated as a green mobility commercial fleet with support from sustainability partners.

Running the pilot phase is expected to provide a better understanding of the routes that will be used for enhancing the venture's delivery of a ride-hailing app and trip monitoring in order to accelerate the learning curve.

Job Description

  • Managing all technology-related operations, systems, and infrastructure within the organization.  ensures that technology functions smoothly and efficiently to support the business's objectives.
  • Regularly assessing the performance of IT systems and operations to identify areas for improvement and optimization. This evaluation is crucial for maintaining the effectiveness and security of technology assets.
  • Developing and implementing IT policies and procedures to ensure that technology operations align with the organization's goals, compliance requirements, and best practices. These policies help standardize technology usage and security protocols.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, overseeing contracts, negotiations, and ensuring that external services meet the company's standards.
  • Implement robust cybersecurity measures and ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection standards, safeguarding sensitive transportation data and customer information.
  • Develop and maintain efficient incident response procedures, ensuring rapid resolution of system failures and technology-related issues.Plan and manage the IT department's budget, allocating resources effectively and cost-efficiently to support technology initiatives and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and logistics, to identify opportunities for technology integration that improve transportation efficiency and customer experience.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in the related field
  • Experience in backend and front end IT development
  • IT Product development , deployment and management
  • Proven experience in IT leadership roles, particularly in the transportation or logistics sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation-related IT systems, including ticketing, scheduling, and fleet management.
  •  Strong strategic planning and problem-solving abilities..
  • Familiarity with data security and regulatory compliance in the transportation industry.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adept at staying current with technology trends and innovations.
