Job Description

The Assistant Site Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Sr. Project Manager with all daily residential remodel site activities necessary to provide our homeowners with a finished build that satisfies contractual agreements in a timely, cost-effective, and courteous manner, as well as ensuring a strong client relationship.

S/he will need to communicate daily with the Sr. Project Manager, subcontractors, and sometimes with the homeowners. In the absence of the Sr. Project Manager, s/he will represent Virtuoso Builders to homeowners regarding their remodel needs and concerns. S/he must be able to communicate effectively while providing the required hands-on manual labor needed to complete residential remodels with budgets ranging from $65,000 -  $1,000,000. 

Duties: 

  • Opening and closing job sites – open the residence and prepare for work each morning and locking up at the end of the work day. 
  • Fill out Daily Logs – recording weather conditions, labor activities, accidents, delays etc. 
  • Assisting with the scheduling of crews to complete production requirements. Scheduling of crews will be coordinated with the Sr. Project Manager.
  • Keep the Sr. Project Manager informed of all schedule-related issues and any requested changes of the Scope by the client. 
  • Photographs project progress daily and send to Sr. Project Manager and Vice President. 
  • Attending regularly scheduled weekly office meetings every Monday morning and possibly participate in progress meetings with the client every 2 weeks. 
  • Enforcing Safety rules and regulations of Virtuoso Builders.
  • Review of Virtuoso Builders Scope of Project per job site to ensure it meets contract requirements. 
  • Follow up on material orders with suppliers from pre-issued purchase orders. 
  • Assist Sr. Project Manager and subcontractors with field issues and/or coordination issues. 
  • Pick up needed materials and deliver to job sites. The Assistant Site Coordinator will be issued a company credit card in his/her and the company’s name. A credit limit will be placed on this card commensurate to his/her production responsibilities. This card is to be used for company purchases only. Each time the card is used, a receipt of that purchase is to be saved and delivered to the Vice President at every Monday morning meeting. He/she will be responsible in seeing that he/she does not exceed the credit limit placed on the card each month, which will incur penalties and fees to the company. Warnings will be issued to the card holder if this happens, and if 3 warnings are issued, the card will be confiscated. 
  • Keep job site clean, organized, safe, and stocked with consumable construction materials. 
  • Materials management on each job site is essential to this position. A project book including all materials will be provided for each project. A description of the materials and their intended use will be in the binder including the type, size, and model numbers. The Assistant Site Coordinator will make sure any unused material is kept in good condition so it can be returned to the vendor for credit. If the project is short of materials, a comprehensive list of what is needed should be made for order and pick up. S/he will pick up what is needed when possible. Keeping materials secure & protected from the weather is part of materials management. Nails and hardware should be stored in an assigned location and any materials that can be damaged by the weather should be covered with plastic or tarps or put indoors or under cover if possible. When materials are delivered to a job site the Assistant Site Coordinator will reconcile the order, and confirm that materials are not damaged. Damaged materials will be sent back to the supplier to be replaced with acceptable materials. 
  • Daily walk-through of each job to inspect the previous day’s work was done and done correctly. 
  • Performs “job autopsies” after each project completion with Virtuoso Builders by providing useful suggestions made for future improvements.

Abilities:

Qualifications: 

  • High-school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of homes is essential
  • 2+ years of building and construction experience in residential construction field is preferred
  • Valid Texas state driver’s license and proof of car insurance
  • Clean insurable driving record and background, with good references required
  • Having your own reliable transportation is required (a truck is desired but not mandatory): s/he will use his own vehicle for transport to each job site which may be more than 1 per day and picking up and delivering materials
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required.
  • Proven performance in customer service, has a positive attitude, and exhibits initiative
  • Self starter with the ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks at a time
  • Professional attire, attitude and behavior required. Torn jeans, untucked shirts, profane language, offensive material (loud radios, uncensored radio stations), alcohol, and tobacco are not tolerated

Certifications, Training & Skills: 

  • Basic Computer Skills required
  • First Aid / CPR Certification preferred
  • OSHA Construction Certification: 10-Hour & 30-Hour preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Understanding of Architectural Plans preferred

 

Additional Information

Working Conditions

  • Driving to various job sites and physically moving around job sites in all phases of construction is a daily occurrence. For example, the Assistance Site Coordinator may drive between sites in Boerne and South Town twice in a day.
  • Physical requirements: This position requires lifting objects up to 50 lbs., sitting, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, and walking. S/he will be exposed to all weather conditions and also requires working around dust.
