Job Description

Mxdwn is a news site bringing “everything that matters in entertainment” to its readers.  In the mxdwn Television department, we strive to cultivate engaging relevant content as well as entertaining to our readers.  We are currently looking for passionate interns with a strong interest in television as well as a strong voice to provide true, interesting, and relevant reporting.  Our dedicated and self-driven reporters cover breaking stories on great shows people are talking about and want to know more of. Examples include, but are not limited to, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Last Kingdom, A Handmaid’s Tale, The Americans, American Horror Story, and This is Us.

Mxdwn Television News Writers are expected to stay on top of and keep up to date with TV news. Successful writers will select topics that are relevant, fresh, and interesting. They assimilate information from a variety of sources, conduct their own additional research as needed, and then combine all of this into a structured, engaging article.

During this internship, you will be assigned to write stories on your designated writing days and expected to complete them by the end of the day. This workload can be increased to meet the hourly requirements of your internship if necessary. You'll work with the News Editor to improve your news-writing style, get exposure to your writing through our readership, and gain knowledge in working with WordPress.

If you want to attain experience in the industry, get your name out there, receive course credit, and/or share television news with individuals around the world, this could be a great opportunity for you. Interested writers should write a cover letter explaining which show (or shows) you believe to be the best on TV right now and why.
