Shop Supervisor

 

MORI Associates is seeking a Shop Supervisor to join our exhibits and property management and Communication Services team. Working in a fast-paced environment, we are looking for a full-time, deadline-driven Shop Supervisor who will have expert knowledge and great communication skills used in project management, facility management, shop management, property management, quality and safety controls. Supporting the Business Office at Johnson Space Center’s off site fabrication warehouse in Houston, s/he must have excellent project management skills and the ability to successfully multi-task as daily operations can fluctuate given the amount of short- and long-term projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, directs and oversees complex fabrication activities, and shop personnel (shop foreman). Will also supervise event set ups and assist the MORI NASA Communications Services Manager, Business Manager and Exhibits Supervisor in the execution of fabrication, event set up, NASA property management, fleet management, facility management, schedules and materials tracking.
  • Manages shop personnel, schedules, understands order of operations for exhibit fabrication and event coordination.
  • Assists with artifact management and ensuring property procedures are expertly followed
  • Writes purchase orders, control and track materials, work in progress reporting, monthly reporting, facility management and fleet management
  • Manage safety and quality of installations
  • Performs multi department integration and interfaces to other functional areas
  • Support team-based culture integrating work from various departments
  • Closely adhere to procedures and protocols as directed, and be responsible for team adherence to such policies.
  • Work with manager, exhibits supervisor, team leads and client while overseeing operations and monitoring progress to ensure customer satisfaction, shop safety
  • Ensure that client requirements are being met and are meeting/exceeding the client’s expectations.
  • Create and manage integrated master schedule
  • Execute a variety of administrative tasks

 

 Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years professional work experience
  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Must be team-oriented, collaborative
  • Must be open to communicating with manager, team leads and the client on a regular basis
  • Ability to manage employees, competing deadlines and multi-task
  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile approach is desirable
  • NASA experience is a plus
  • Degree in Business Administration is preferred
  • Project Management Institute (PMI®) Project Management Professional (PMP®) or equivalent also preferred
