Job Description

The Senior Analytics Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and developing robust data products and analytics solutions of scalable data infrastructure for capturing, storing, and processing data related to medical cannabis therapies. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will work closely with the Analytics Engineering team, collaborating on projects, optimising the Business Intelligence (BI) platform, and ensuring data quality and governance. 
 

Day to day:

  • Lead the design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data infrastructure for capturing, storing, and processing data related to medical cannabis therapies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Analytics Engineering team, fostering a collaborative environment and enhancing team skills.
  • Manage projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Oversee the Business Intelligence (BI) platform, optimising its efficiency, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, enforce data quality and governance, assess and implement new technologies,
    and monitor analytics solution performance for continuous improvement.
  • Implement and optimise data pipelines to ensure efficient and accurate transformation.
  • Develop and maintain data models/products that support advanced analytics and reporting requirements.
  • Continuously optimise data processes and workflows to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Perform data analysis and profiling to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and gaps.
  • Collaborate with analysts, and stakeholders to define analytics requirements and develop analytical solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in analytics engineering and project collaboration
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python and SQL
  • Extensive experience with dbt 
  • Experience with data warehouse technologies (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery)
  • Proficiency in building and optimising ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Solid understanding of data modelling concepts and database technologies (e.g., relational, dimensional, NoSQL)
  • Expertise in data modelling, data pipeline development, and BI platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and scalable data infrastructure
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) is desirable.
