Job Description

The HRIS Analyst is responsible for supporting multiple areas of the organization including Payroll, Benefits, IT, and C-Suite. Responsibilities include

Generating Reports:

  • Utilizing Excel from running adhoc/scheduled queries to writing complex queries to export data to Excel, and utilizing advanced reports in the HRIS system to provide to various levels of the organization
  • Writing complex Excel functions/macros to organize large volumes of data for reporting

Ongoing Reporting Assistance:

  • Statutory reporting to various government and state agencies
  • SOX compliance
  • Work Opportunity Tax Credits
  • Benefit Plans annual audits
  • Adhoc reporting support for organization

Data/File Maintenance and Technical Support:

  • Subject Matter Expert of HR Data
  • Maintain and create system data tables
  • Maintain and process file feeds with various vendors, ensuring the transfer protocols are functioning and secure
  • Create/Test Excel templates to function as autoloaders/macros for updating large volumes of data on HRIS system
  • Run audits, data integrity checks for payroll and benefits departments
  • Identify inefficiencies and choke points for the department and determine whether process improvement needs to be outsourced to IT
  • Act as a liaison between HR/PR and IT to identify issues, propose solutions, test results, assist with implementation and train end user on new program/process
  • For improvements that do not need IT involvement, train the end user on the new Excel/Autoloader process

Special Projects:

  • Key resource in requirements development, data mapping, and testing of creating new or updating existing file feeds



  • Three to five years of HRIS Analyst or related experience
  • Experience supporting Payroll and HR/Benefit processing including data auditing
  • One to two years of project management experience
  • Implementation experience including testing of Inbound/Outbound Files and ongoing maintenance/auditing of files
  • Strong organizational skills, adaptive agility, and ability to react to change
  • Experience with HRIS systems and reporting functions; JDE preferred
  • Advanced Excel-- Vlookup, pivot tables, VBA/macro experience preferred
  • Ability to write queries and export data to excel
  • Ability to package data and present to various levels of the organization
  • Strong communication, analytical and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience
