Operations Manager
Job Description
An exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to work at a state-of-the-art plastics recycling operation across multiple sites in Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire.
To manage all aspects of the Monoworld Operations to ensure that it exceeds our people, quality and cost targets whilst adhering to all environmental and health and safety legislation and targets. Demonstrate strong leadership and direction to all relevant staff to ensure that customer service levels are exceeded and also to drive for world class levels of Operational Plant Efficiency. Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure that all plant and equipment achieves its optimum performance. Create transparent world class metrics as part of peer & stakeholder governance. Manage the plant and staff to a standard that ensures full compliance with all regulatory and statutory authorities. Operate all the plants to deliver production at Budgeted (full capacity) levels ensuring that quality levels are maintained and production is delivered cost effectively. Lead new and existing projects to deliver requirements on time and on better than budgeted costs. Comprehensive formal and adhoc reporting to Board and Shareholder on a regular and exceptional basis.
Responsible for overseeing plant maintenance, servicing and training of all staff. Prepare tool rooms, maintenance plans, cleaning of plant as per manufacturers recommendation on all plant, equipment fork trucks and machines, provide cleaning and maintenance reports to management on a daily basis.
Legal Compliance: Ensure full compliance with
- with all legislation regarding the site’s activities and in particular the Company's Operators License
- Environmental Authorities including audits
- HSE including Risk Assessment, Accident Investigations and manage visits from Officers
- All waste has correct paperwork for EA compliance. All EA returns are prepared and submitted in a timely manner
- Compliance of agency requirements
Quality Standards: Maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 and related audits
Health and Safety: Ensure that all Company Health & Safety and HR policies and procedures are complied with and applied in a fair and consistent way.
Reporting – Timely and accurate reporting of all site activities. Compile and present daily report for management on all aspects of operation, can use existing report format or change and modify to present a good report. Reports to include, input, output of plants. Daily production, staff numbers, output from baler, granulators and shredders. Circulation of check lists and cleaning and maintenance reports.
Staff - To recruit, motivate, train, develop and mentor staff. Ensure that all staff are following procedures and are performing their daily task as required for them.
Qualifications/ Experience.
A good strong manufacturing, operations, production, or engineering background, any relevant training or qualification. IOSH, NEEBOSH qualified, any other Wamitab, or waste qualification, polymer production experience is required.
