Job Description
The Estate Planning Attorney will play a critical role in delivering high-quality estate planning strategies and recommendations to our clients, particularly focusing on serving high and ultra-high-net-worth clients within the Family Office space. This individual will join a highly performing team of experts with more than 30 years of combined experience in the estate planning field to collaboratively provide strategic advice, recommend estate planning strategies, summarize client estate plans easily, and work closely with our financial advisors to integrate estate planning into our clients' overall financial plans. The ideal candidate will have strong public speaking skills, the ability to interact comfortably with clients, and the capacity to provide thought leadership within our organization.
Essential Responsibilities
- Estate Planning Strategy: Provide clients with strategic estate planning advice and recommendations to discuss with their attorneys, focusing on the unique needs of high and ultra-high net worth clients.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their estate planning needs and provide personalized advice and solutions.
- Collaboration with Financial Advisors: Work closely with our team of financial advisors to ensure estate planning strategies are integrated into clients’ comprehensive financial plans.
- Public Speaking and Presentations: Conduct seminars, webinars, and client meetings to educate clients and potential clients on estate planning topics.
- Thought Leadership: Provide insights and thought leadership to the estate planning team and the broader financial advisory team. Stay updated on industry trends, legal changes, and best practices.
- Summarizing Estate Plans: Competently summarize and explain a client's estate plan in an easy-to-understand way, ensuring clients have a clear understanding of their plan.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all estate planning strategies and recommendations comply with current laws and regulations. Uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.
- Training and Development: Mentor and train junior staff and advisors on estate planning concepts and strategies.
Qualifications
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, LLM preferred.
- Licensure: Licensed to practice law in the United States, though this role will not involve drafting legal documents or providing legal advice.
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience in estate planning, including advising on various estate planning strategies. Experience working with high and ultra-high net worth clients is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in legal research tools.
