Job Description
As Head of Digital Platforms & Products, you'll own the end-to-end strategy and delivery of digital platforms across both our customer-facing and internal environments. You'll move us decisively from legacy systems and project-based delivery toward a product-led model built for continuous value creation — and you'll do it in close partnership with executive leadership.
This is a role with real scope: from defining the platform roadmap and driving build-versus-buy decisions, to owning vendor relationships and ensuring every product we ship is secure, scalable and commercially sustainable.
- Defining and executing a digital platform strategy that modernises core freight operations — from quoting and booking through to track-and-trace, customs compliance and last-mile delivery visibility
- Leading the retirement of legacy systems (TMS, WMS, ERP integrations) and guiding build-versus-buy decisions for next-generation freight platforms
- Owning the end-to-end customer experience across all digital touchpoints — shippers, consignees, agents and internal operations teams
- Translating business priorities — lane profitability, shipment volumes, carrier mix — into clear product roadmaps with measurable outcomes
- Building and leading a high-performing team of product managers and engineers, embedding a product-led culture across technology and operations
- Managing strategic vendor and partner relationships — freight tech providers, integration platforms, port and carrier APIs — including contract negotiations and cost optimisation
- Defining platform performance measures and providing clear reporting on outcomes to the CIO and executive leadership team
- Ensuring all platforms meet enterprise cyber security, trade compliance and regulatory requirements across the jurisdictions we operate in
Qualifications
- 10+ years overall in technology, with at least 7–8 years in digital product or platform leadership specifically, including a minimum of 3–5 years in a senior or head-level role.
- Demonstrated success modernising or replacing legacy systems with scalable, integrated solutions — including portals, workflow tools, and booking or quoting systems
- Experience building and leading cross-functional teams across product, engineering and business domains
- Deep understanding of agile and product-led delivery models
- Strong commercial acumen, including vendor management, contract negotiation and cost optimisation
