Job Description

You will be responsible for the cross-collaboration with IT delivery teams to deliver technical solutions for our business needs. You will also be involved in shaping up our COE for software development team and applying effective solutions to business problems. You’ll be working with 3rd party vendors in the review and implementations of secure and robust solutions. You and your team will recommend strategic roadmap for technical enhancements for software products. 

*This role is open to candidates residing in Canada / US (remote opportunity). Must be eligible to work in Canada / US.                      

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                     

  • Work with our application development teams, architects and engineers within the group to understand the functional and non-functional requirements of a given project/application or infrastructure to develop a forward-looking technology solution and strategy that aligns to our overall target state architecture.
  • Contribute to a long-term product/platform vision, roadmap and goals.
  • Balance the priorities of short-term deliverables with long-term vision.
  • Owns and drives engineering best practices, architecture, design and interface decisions to support enablement of the enterprise software product strategy.
  • Coordinate the deliverables of several development teams to meet goals.
  • Collaborates and communicates with different teams and leads technical groups in triaging issues across groups.
  • Collaborate with project managers as well as business to define product features, architectural deliverables and project estimates.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate meetings and initiate working sessions to resolve project issues and roadblocks.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of customer facing systems with complex back office system integrations
  • Proven experience leading high performing teams
  • Building and managing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent understanding of contemporary IT methodologies and practices
  • Knowledge of financial services
  • Experience implementing Commercial off-the-shelf Softwares
  • Experience designing and implementing technology solutions with 3rd party Data providers like Credit Bureaus and Alternate data providers for fraud and Identity verification.
  • Ability to demonstrate resilience and pragmatism in the face of a challenging and continually changing environment
  • Experience with Cloud migration specifically with AWS is a plus

SKILLS

  • 10+ years of experience in software delivery
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with high levels of initiative, commitment and energy who can galvanize the team to follow
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles and best practice methodologies.
  • Experience leveraging geographically diverse and offshore development teams.
  • Understanding of DevOps process, CI/CD and Cloud hosting.
  • Understanding in middleware tools including Enterprise Service Bus.
